Santa Rosa National Park; La Selva Biological Station and Barva Transect to 500m.
This species inhabits both lowland rainforest of the Atlantic slope and lowland dry forest in Guanacaste. At La Selva Biological Station, workers are fairly common in Winkler samples. Nests have been found in small rotten sticks on the ground. At Santa Rosa National Park, I collected a nest in a small soft stick on the ground in Quercus oleoides forest. On the Barva transect it decreases quickly with elevation, and is rare by 500m.
